Pros

I worked at General Motors for one year as a Graduate Engineer Trainee, as part of the GM Campus-Connect program. I got a chance to undergo training in different functions of the organization over a span of one year. Due to some global business decisions, I was forced to quit GM. Nonetheless, it was a fantastic experience to work with some of the most talented people.

Cons

The company as a whole lacks objectivity. In my case as a Graduate Engineer Trainee, I was expecting the training program to be a bit more rigorous.

Advice to Management

There is a dearth of need for strong local management, leaders who can lead the way. Most of the leaders in charge of India operations are sadly not up to the task. They need leaders who can connect with young minds and provide thrust for innovation.
