Pros
  1. Good work-life balance.
  2. Fair compensation.
  3. Great pool of engineers having a lot of talent and knowledge to share.
Cons
  1. Slow career growth.
  2. Exceptional abilities are needed to get promoted to level 8 or beyond.
  3. A top-down approach from senior management as far as product selection goes. Low-level employees have little to share.
Advice to Management

Have a more bottom-up approach to learn from lower-level employee experiences in making choices. That may result in knowing better about projects, as the information/feedback will be unfiltered, coming directly from the rank-and-file workforce. From personal experience, this can result in significant and valuable updates about the health of current projects and may result in savings of a lot of ill-spent dollars.
