The hours and schedule shift based on production output. You may work days one week and nights the next. There is not a lot of growth in the company unless you know the top execs. In addition, there is so much downsizing required to stay afloat, and lost volume through the downsizing that I would be nervous each night for job complacency.
Build the business on intelligence and ethics, not who-you-know or getting a job out the door. They are in a tough spot, but they will not succeed as long as they are still roped by the UAW.
