GM is my long-awaited employer that I wanted to work for.
Since I came to the US back in 2017, I always wanted to work at GM.
What would be a greater department to work for than EV?
I got an opportunity under one of the best managers I have ever worked for. The working environment is really great here. We work in a hybrid environment, and it's pretty helpful. We get to work from home most of the time and go to the office half of the week.
Rumors of layoffs were circulating as the company decided to save $2B in 2023 and 2024. It's pretty scary since, as I'm on a visa, my entire existence in the US depends on this job.
Heard back about a month after applying. Scheduled interview for next week, and they rescheduled on me. Single-round interview with engineers from the department I am working at, with behavioral and resume technical questions.
My experience was excellent from start to finish. The entire process went very smoothly and was handled with great professionalism. Both the HR team and the managers were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and supportive throughout. Everything was well
The interview process consisted of three rounds: * An initial discussion with HR * A behavioral interview * A final coding round During the coding round, the interviewer was very insistent on using Python and initially unwilling to accept solutions
