The environment is very dynamic and versatile. The engineer interfaces with almost every aspect of the company, especially when placed on a project early on in the pre-development phase. Quite a bit of knowledge can be gained from peers with several years of experience.
One of the cons is that you may not necessarily be a part of the design activity. You have to manage the project as a whole, as well as manage suppliers.
