Pros

Get to work on new vehicles.

There are some great people around.

The company as a whole is trying to do better, taking more chances on innovation, and encouraging being more exclusive.

Cons

Old boys club - The place is run by mostly older white men who started their careers in the manufacturing plant pre-bankruptcy. This means promotions go to those who are part of the club. If you are not friends or family with the old boys, it will be hard for you to get promoted.

Females and minorities will have a harder time here.

Innovation projects are, as a result, treated as an assembly line and use manufacturing processes such as Lean Six Sigma to "innovate" for future products, which often results in your work not ending up in production.

Advice to Management

The assembly plant is re-opening. Please send those managers who threaten employees with dismissal for not completing DFSS Six Sigma Training to the manufacturing plant and bring in new leadership that understands software development with a real innovation background.
