It's very political, and it is apparent that before people want to hear what you have to say, they want to know who you are connected to and what power you have.
Hold managers accountable for achievement. Provide managers with achievements that are important to the business, the customers, and the employees. Ensure these achievements have dimensions that are not one-sided and do not hurt a portion of the business in the spirit of just achieving.
