As a car enthusiast and an engineer, it's hard to find a better job than engineering cars. Despite the recent events (bankruptcy, horrible press, poor public approval), we’re coming out with some really cool and relevant cars. My current job lets me spend time in vehicles on the test track, as well as using test equipment (cool toys) in the laboratory. I have the chance to do hands-on engineering and testing, as well as the normal meetings and paperwork. GM is big enough for you to move around and try your hand at a wide variety of career paths.
Some of my previous positions were less than exciting. Many jobs are meeting and paperwork intensive, but that's probably the case with most large companies.
While I have a job I enjoy now, I spent 16 years working my way here. I guess it depends on what you initially hire in for.
Work with lower-level managers to get employees into the positions they really want. People work best when they are working on something they're interested in.
Additionally, please try to finish the upper-level seat changes so the workforce can stop being distracted and concentrate on the task at hand: designing, building, and selling the world's best vehicles.

Overall, easy questions. They asked questions from my experience and resume. I applied online, and the recruiter called me the same day. First, I had an interview with the hiring manager, which was pretty cool. The technical interview also went well
