Great pay. Great benefits. Excellent vacation, 401k, and bonus.
The biggest issue is management and leadership.
Quality, first-line managers who genuinely care about their employees and their teams are hard to come by. Upper management is tone-deaf when it comes to understanding culture. Things like execs walking the cubes at 5:30 pm and checking to see who is still at work are ridiculous practices that should be abolished.
Lots of horror stories of favoritism and lack of interest in career development from managers towards their employees.
Pay closer attention to who your managers are. Management has been a severely lacking skill at GM. Team culture and dynamics are important.
Good developers are not an easily replaceable resource.
First was an HR screening, and then a technical screening/interview. If I pass this one, then there will be more rounds, maybe around 3-4 look interviews, but I'm not sure.
I just got the screen call. All questions were kind of standard. There were some technical questions asked. The recruiter just took notes. I didn't end up with an offer, but the whole communication was going pretty well.
Applied through LinkedIn and received a text and call to schedule two interviews. One was a technical interview for one hour, and the other was a behavioral interview for one hour. Most of the questions were STAR questions.
