Pros

Relatively easy to get the job offer.

Good work-life balance.

Good mentorship (at least in my team).

I'm lucky that my team members were really helpful when I just started. When I had questions, I could always find the right people to ask, and it worked well. Also, my manager is really nice and cares about my growth.

Cons

Low starting salary. Lots of red tape. Bullying new hires.

You need to know how to deal with people like a politician to survive. Experienced employees like bullying and stabbing others (especially new hires) in the back. Technical skill is less important than communication skill. Your performance is evaluated by whom you know, not what you know.

Starting salary is the same for all new hires regardless of their background, and it's below the average. No matter if you are a CS major or business major, the salary is all the same for software developers.

Advice to Management

Add more technical questions to the interview process. Pure behavioral questions will not help you find the most qualified candidates.
