Some people I know had flexible hours and could WFH, but that's at a team level, so results may vary.
It is almost impossible to get fired. One of my friends took a two-month Europe vacation without telling anyone, just up and left. His manager noticed after seven and a half weeks of his absence, and he only received a "stern talking to" about his vacation.
