Pros

Benefits are good compared to other companies in this category.

Big investments in technology and buildings.

Cons

Unfair growth opportunities for a few. The 20 high-profile individuals in Austin that HP complained about are an example, further showing the same by picking their own. Growth is limited by who you know, not what you know. You don't need a technical degree or be a poor developer to be a manager or a leader.

Advice to Management

There will be no innovation if you hire all the old timers again.

Break the growth based on connections. Stop making failed developers and PM your leaders.

Do an inventory of how many IT leaders have a technical degree, have developed technology in recent years, can write code, or have ever written code.
