Pros

The benefits are great.

Lots of flexibility in work hours when you need it, and the 401K match is as good as it gets.

The vision at the top is great, and the executives say all the right things that will push GM to be a leader in the future auto industry.

Cons

The visions don't translate very well to the everyday employees. Lots of indirection within middle management and re-organizations every few months makes it almost impossible to know what is really important.

Most areas of the technology are still stuck in the same place they were 5-10 years ago, which makes keeping up with newer companies almost impossible. The biggest issue is there are very few management-level employees who own products and ensure they are performing at their best.

Retention of younger, motivated employees is basically non-existent.

Lastly, the level of bureaucracy to get anything meaningful developed is stifling to innovation.
