Work is picking up, but compensation and benefits are not

Pros

I admire and take pride in the work I do for GM, working on software for EVs. The company values those who work hard and make the effort to champion projects. Most teams are comfortable training new employees who are unfamiliar with the nature of the work, instead of expecting new hires to know everything from the start.

Cons

The Software and Services organization has been emphasizing a performance-oriented mindset, but the compensation and benefits are barely increasing with it.

Advice to Management

If they demand higher performance, they need to offer significantly higher salary and/or privileges (such as remote work) for attracting talented SWEs. Otherwise, many talented employees might find better options in the job market.
