Working with many decent, smart people.
This company became highly politicized and "woke". Instead of keeping politics and propaganda away from people's workplaces, GM Canada started to brainwash and divide its employees, like it happens in communist regimes. People who don't agree with political views being shoved by GM management down their throats cannot speak up as they are shut up and shamed. The CEO Mary Barra was praising Joe Biden, among other things saying she is very happy he likes GM cars. BLM, despite its violent protests, was praised too. Ironically, Mary Barra was accused by BLM for racism. Good for her and GM.
Lastly, the company imposed mandatory vaccines on all its workers! In the document GM Canada released to all their employees, every demand is illegal according to Ontario's law:
In addition, I can mention long working hours, deadline stress, and the worst health benefits I ever saw (my past experience and my friend's current benefits).
Working environment became even more stressful and toxic after this private company dared to impose a vaccine mandate which violates human rights and current provincial laws, which I have checked with my lawyer. Maybe GM Canada has insider information from the government about changing laws? No wonder specialists are leaving in batches. I'm leaving too; this is not a decent workplace anymore.
Stop shoving your political views at the workplace! You can't imagine how many people don't like to be fed with your propaganda.
There were times when politics was banned from discussion at GMC, and it was great!
Stop the company's mandatory vaccination policy; it goes against the law. Lawyers will help everybody you've repressed for a percentage of severance you'll pay.
The interview process was straightforward. I had a phone screen with a recruiter to go over my resume. Then, a 2-hour technical interview with questions from what became my day-to-day tasks. These questions were algorithm questions, e.g., "how will y
You get an initial phone screening. Then a Skype technical round. If you pass that, a Skype behavioral round. It's a fairly simple process and very easy to do if prepared.
The first round is two online tests, which take more than 2 hours in total. It's totally a waste of time! There's a half-hour logic test, which is pretty easy, then a half-hour behavioral test, which is very misleading/weird. You will get to see how
