General Motors Interview Experiences
Controls and Software Engineer
Done through HireVue. Most likely never seen by a human until you finally get the screening and/or Skype interview. Not the best interview process, but the behavioral portion is straightforward. Thought the pattern recognition games were nonsense.
Software Engineering Intern
Sent a HireVue video interview. It asked basic questions like, “Describe a time you got out of a difficult situation” or “Describe something you worked really hard for.” Standard interpersonal questions.
Software Developer
Tough technical questions were asked, along with some on thinking capabilities. I was primarily interviewed for a position in Java/J2EE development. Questions were mainly focused on J2EE, EJB, messaging, and transaction capabilities using WebLogic.
