GM provides me and my family with great pay and benefits.
I get those benefits and great pay because I was hired in 1992. Current new hires receive subpar pay (starting around $16/hr) and are almost entirely hired as temporary employees to begin with. If they are lucky enough to remain a temporary employee long enough, they are then able to become an "in-progression" employee. Unfortunately, these new employees receive much less pay than legacy employees like me, no defined pension plan, and worse insurance.
It is high time for GM to realize that their future lies with the happiness and security of their employees, not just their profits. Multiple billions in profits each year are obviously not enough.
Overall, easy questions. They asked questions from my experience and resume. I applied online, and the recruiter called me the same day. First, I had an interview with the hiring manager, which was pretty cool. The technical interview also went well
Was only given a behavioral interview that consisted of 2 behavioral questions and 2 technical questions. It follows the STAR concept very thoroughly. If you don't answer one part of the STAR method, they will ask you about it in more detail.
Heard back about a month after applying. Scheduled interview for next week, and they rescheduled on me. Single-round interview with engineers from the department I am working at, with behavioral and resume technical questions.
