I applied online in summer 2019 and received communication from HR to set up a call for the first round. That was mostly an introduction, an overview of the position/team, etc.
The interest was mutual, and we scheduled a call for the next round, which was going to be a technical screen.
On the day of the technical screen, just minutes before the scheduled time, I got an automated email saying I had not been selected for the position I applied for. I reached out to HR, and she said they were moving in a different direction now.
This happened within about 3 business days from our first conversation. I didn't see that coming this fast, and especially not from an automated email system.
