I received a call in February 2019 for an interview with a Sr. Site Reliability Engineer. The interview focused on my experience, internship, and one of my portfolio projects. Two weeks later, I was offered an onsite interview. However, the very next day, I was informed that the team had already hired someone else and could not proceed with the onsite interview. I understood the situation, as these things can happen, but I believe the team and HR need better coordination in their hiring process.

The same day they canceled my onsite interview, I received another opportunity with GoDaddy for a Security Architect role. The initial call was with a Sr. Director - Software Developer. This round was a video call where I was to be asked about my experience and coding skills. My interview was scheduled for 1:30 PM, but my interviewer did not join the call. I waited until 1:40 PM and then emailed HR. HR stated they would contact the interviewer and get back to me. I remained on the call, hoping the interview would still take place, but at 2:30 PM, HR emailed to inform me they had a change of plans and would not proceed with the interview. HR also mentioned they would call me the next day, though the reason was unclear, and that call did not happen either.

My primary thought after this interview process was, "GoDaddy is unprofessional." While this might have been an isolated mistake, the experience was very unpleasant. I did not even receive an apology for how I was treated.
