It pays okay, and work-life balance is better than at many other companies.
Aman and the current leadership has more or less gutted the company for quick profit. Profits have shot through the roof, but they've laid off so many people that even teams like Authentication barely have enough employees to keep the lights on (Auth has only 2 backend engineers).
It's been sad to watch this company disintegrate from within. Three years ago, I was recommending it to everyone as an awesome place to work, but that has changed so quickly it's shocking. My individual manager is great, but I talk to him about what is going on above him, and it's dog eat dog. Infighting, leaders constantly backstabbing each other. Most of the leadership who were pro-employee and pro-culture have left to "spend more time with family" besides one person, and he was removed from his job and, quite literally, put onto the task of figuring out what tools and benefits they should cut to save money. That was his announced job: figure out how to cut tools and benefits.
The last year has seen them cutting good, useful tools across the board and replacing them with tools that are worse in most capacities, but are cheap. This has resulted in a lot of time spent tool jumping and reduced capabilities for their employees.
Run away.
I understand that you are getting pressure from activist investor groups (Starboard Capital, primarily) to generate profit above anything else, but a real leader would look at the husks of the other companies they left in their wake and recognize that you should fight their influence at all costs.
Interview process was pretty relevant to the role. Overall, I liked the process, which is very professional. Process: 1. *Initial screening* was a HackerRank with 2 questions (LC easy to medium). Time limit - 60 mins. 2. *Director - Telephonic Scree
The interview process was straightforward. It consisted of three onsite interviews and a talk with the hiring manager. They asked: * One design question * Two LeetCode questions * Some behavioral questions * Some more questions about how I work in
First Phone Interview/Coding Test. Shared screen on HackerRank to solve a problem. The interviewer was very nice and helpful. They wanted to hear me talk out the problem first, and I was able to ask them questions.
