Software Developer Interview Experience - New York, New York

Process

The interview process involved a phone interview with a coding pad and an on-site interview.

The phone interview included standard behavioral questions, such as "What if you overhear sensitive information in an elevator?" These questions are likely a formality, as few people would give an inappropriate answer. There were also two coding questions during the phone interview.

The on-site interview consisted of a series of 2-on-1 interviews. These covered routine questions on low-latency techniques in trading systems, along with more challenging programming questions. More behavioral questions were asked, such as "What do you think are the successful players in their market, and why are they doing well?" My answers might have offended the interviewer's ego, as I knew the answers well and did not overthink the implications during the interview.
