Pros
  • Using new technologies as long as you are in the Java sphere.
  • Work-life balance is good. It's a 9-to-5 job, and nobody will ask you to stay longer unless you want to.
Cons
  • Office politics is rampant.
  • You can keep working, but unless the MD knows you directly or you do more "talk-talk" (which they call visibility), you won't get promoted or get a good appraisal.
Advice to Management

Management should be awarding based on work, not based on who talks more. Sweet talkers with a lower level of experience are not going to help the company. Real work is.
