Frontend Engineer Interview Experience - New York, New York

Process

I received an unsolicited email from a Google recruiter, was passed around to two other recruiters, had a phone interview, and then received a callback stating I wasn’t going to move forward.

This was not my first time interviewing at Google. Last time, about three years ago, I passed the phone interview and went on-site.

This time, the interviewer didn’t want to give me the opportunity to continue. Judging from his tone of voice, the way he asked me questions, and the nature of his questions, I don’t believe he ever intended to let me through.

Questions

They asked me to explain in technical detail how React works. I'm not sure why such a topic would be the main focus of conversation; perhaps they're looking for Angular framework engineers?
