I applied via their website and received an email from the recruiter. The recruiter spoke in detail about the whole process. We scheduled the first-round interview after three weeks. The recruiter also forwarded a lot of information about the interview process.

The question in the code pairing interview was not very difficult, but I made some silly mistakes and took a long time to come up with a solution. The interviewer was not very friendly and remained quiet for most of the session, not offering help or nudges even when I was struggling.

As expected, the recruiter called and informed me about the rejection, but offered many tips for preparing next time. He mentioned that most people join Google after multiple attempts and encouraged me to keep preparing and apply again next year, which was encouraging to hear.
