Process
I was going through a conversion interview, so my interview experience was likely different.
I had a few standard programming questions:
- One was to maintain stats on an hourly, minute, and day granularity.
- The other was a variant of a hash table design.
I had to negotiate a lot, but it had a huge impact on my offer. I also had competing offers from Facebook, Dropbox, and a startup.
Questions
It was a variant of a hash table.

Depending on what you're looking for
Senior Software Engineer • Current Employee
July 15, 2023
Pros: As a software engineer, you normally own what you do, end to end. Everyone is smart, and the culture is very positive. Work-life balance is generally up to you; nobody talks about hours, only performance. Strives for diversity and unbiased choices.
Cons: People consider complete ownership an issue. For example, you need to convince colleagues (who own their stuff) that what you do is the right thing, rather than just have someone at the top giving the last word. This is very uncommon.
