The interview process was, in some ways, what I would have expected, based on information available on the internet. There were programming tests, a design test, and a discussion about how I would handle various interactions with other employees.
The thing that I found very odd, however, was that there was no discussion about what the job would entail. It seemed to very much assume that I, of course, would want the job. It left me feeling that Google is approaching the whole process with an air of superiority. I found that very off-putting, and I honestly don't think I would have accepted any offer.
I also have no plans to ever pursue employment at Google in the future. I did find the experience interesting, however, and I'm still glad that I did it.
How would you handle a situation where a co-worker is not doing their work?
