Process
I was contacted by a recruiter, with whom I scheduled a phone screen.
After the phone screen, I heard back and was transferred to someone who worked specifically on the hiring process after recruiting.
Then, an onsite interview was scheduled at the location I most wanted to work at.
Everyone I dealt with was very nice and did their best to assist me through the process. They provided study aids, a clear understanding of what could be covered in the interview, how the interviews would work, and advice.

Pros: Reliable work with good benefits and salary.
Good infrastructure and support for employee needs, such as relocating, commuting, and remote work.
Cons: internal technology ecosystem that's largely separate from the outside world. A lot of reinventing the wheel happens between teams and company-wide. There's a long (3-9 months) self-driven ramp-up period, partly because of the above.

Pros: - Pay is competitive.
- Benefits are good.
- Slowly, the company is beginning to accept they have to accommodate remote work.
- Internal tools are pretty good.
- On-call is very quiet.
- On-callers get additional compensation.
- Most teams, on an individual level, have a good culture.
Cons: Upper management only cares about stock value. Pay, benefits, etc. have been gradually getting worse since ~2015. Decisions are extremely slow and bureaucratic. The company is a "tech island," not using industry-standard tools and instead relying on a bunch of Google-specific stuff. Development is centered around maximizing performance reviews and getting promotions. It's demoralizing having a new "evil thing" the company did in the news frequently. Work-life balance varies a lot, but it's always better than Amazon, in my experience.

Pros: Apart from the perks and benefits, what it gives you is shaping your mindset and, in turn, yourself in a very positive way. A company that can think beyond itself, a company that values its employees, a company that shapes how engineers should be, a company that sets the golden standard for how business should be – in a nutshell, a company with a great foundation!
Cons: There is nothing I can think of.
