Process

I received a phone call from the recruiter who asked me a few questions about my present job.

Next, the phone interview was scheduled for a week later. The phone interview consisted of three parts:

  • Questions about my current job, things I worked on, and projects I had participated in.
  • What is my favorite programming language and what is the most advanced feature of that language that I have used.
  • Questions on multithreading, concurrency, and locking. Simple questions about race conditions and solutions to common concurrency problems. What is the difference between a mutex and a semaphore? Which would I use to protect access to an increment operation (i.e., i++)?
  • A question on the 'Game of Nim,' although it was worded differently.

Questions

The Game of Nim, worded differently.

Concurrency, Multithreading
