Software Engineer Interview Experience - Kirkland, Washington
Process
They contacted me quickly after submitting my resume.
There was one phone interview plus two trips out.
The first trip included five hour-long interviews with engineers. The second trip had two interviews.
All involved coding problems.
It was a hard interview process, but fair. My only real complaint is that I had to fly out two times. It would have been better if I could have done it in one trip, perhaps a two-day interview.

Google Work Experiences
- 4.0Great for Google EngineersSoftware Engineer • Former EmployeeKirkland, Washington, United StatesDecember 9, 2024Pros: If you want a position with a long lifespan and room to grow, or are just absolutely obsessed with their products, Google is great. Or you can be absolutely useless and somehow stick around. There are also some great networking opportunities. Either way, you will be molded into a great "Google Engineer".Cons: If you want to be a "Software Engineer," you may want to try somewhere else. The skills you build, in my experience, are not as transferable as skills learned in other companies. Additionally, the company as well as employees do not shy away from implanting their culture, which has long become artificial, into your daily routine.
