Process

I was referred by a friend of a friend for the SWE Machine Learning position.

I was initially scheduled for a phone interview, but the recruiter later skipped it because my contact at Google gave me a glowing review. I was invited straight onsite for five rounds of interviews.

  • Two rounds were ML rounds, where they asked me to code some basic ML algorithms and asked me a few questions on evaluation metrics and stopping criteria.
  • The next three were coding rounds, with one round on a multi-agent BFS question, one on memoized recursion, and one on a modified BFS.

I was rejected by the hiring committee three weeks after the interview.
