Needs culture to shift to shipping and meritocracy
Software Engineer • Current Employee
New York, New York, United States
October 18, 2024
Pros: The best minds in the world work here, although we have lost a few top talents due to bureaucracy, DEI, and politics.
Cons: Too much virtue signaling. Some make it even into products (see Imagen fiasco). Risk-averse.
Majority of workers who came through just LeetCode grinding or during COVID low-standard hiring are mostly clueless about running a profitable business or shipping features that users love, or what really matters for building a sustainable organization.
