Process

It was a 2-stage interview process.

  • Applied in late September 2021 for the SDE New Grad position.
  • Got an OA after a week; it had 2 questions: 1 medium level and another kind of hard. The time limit was about an hour.
  • About 10 days after clearing the OA, I was contacted by a recruiter to schedule an on-site interview.
  • They scheduled the interview a week after I submitted my date preferences. There were 5 total interviews: 1 behavioral (30 minutes) + 4 technical coding (45 minutes each).
  • The behavioral interview was sort of informal, discussing projects and leadership experiences. Some questions were based on potential situations you might face at Google or in any other teamwork scenario.
  • There were about 2 coding questions in all four technical coding interviews. They were based on varied data structures, such as Trees, Graphs, Arrays, and Strings. The difficulty was on average medium to hard.

Questions

  1. Find the number of islands created by subsequent 1s in a 0-1 tree (also the size of islands).

  2. Array-based DP questions.

  3. Developing data structures for problems like a cooking recipe finder given raw ingredients.
