Software Engineer Interview Experience

Process

My interview process steps were:

  • Applied online
  • Completed an online assessment with two questions (easy and medium difficulty), passing both completely with approximately 20 minutes to spare.
  • Had a short talk with a recruiter.
  • Attended an on-site interview with five engineers, with each session lasting approximately 45 minutes. The problems were generally not easy, and the testing was very thorough with no overlap in content from previous sessions. I didn't instantly solve most problems, but I always arrived at an optimal solution with assistance. It's definitely beneficial to use your interviewer as a resource and pick up on their hints – they are not there to intimidate you! The engineers had diverse backgrounds, and I had an engaging discussion about uncommon C++ STL features with one of them during a problem-solving session; he was certainly my favorite.

Received an offer in a few weeks, which was expedited due to a competing offer deadline.
