Application:
I applied to Google, Zurich (L3 – New Grad) at the beginning of February 2022. A recruiter contacted me two weeks later for a conversation. Basic HR questions included, “Describe your professional background” and “Can you relocate?”. I scheduled a Phone Interview a month later.
Phone Interview
A basic 45-minute interview took place. The question was an easy one (based on LeetCode questions). It had two follow-ups (also easy and one medium), which I managed to solve.
The recruiter contacted me later that day, saying I passed the interview and was moving to the Virtual On-Site. I asked for two months of preparation time.
Technical Interview 1
The question was an easy one, related to Lists and Maps. It had one follow-up, which was also easy. The interviewer was communicative, and the experience was pleasant.
Technical Interview 2
The question was a medium one, related to Lists and Maps. I found the solution straightforward to implement, but it was lengthy. I provided a solution, but it had a bug I did not manage to see. The interview experience was not so pleasant, as the interviewer’s English was not very good, and neither was the microphone he used.
Technical Interview 3
The HR provided the wrong link to the meeting, so I had to reschedule. The question was a hard one, with a few corner cases to be careful about. The question was related to graphs and cycle detection (DFS). The interviewer provided hints to help me reach an optimal solution.
Googleyness Interview
A normal situational interview. A very basic HR interview.
Q: How would you encourage a coworker to do work?
