The interview process was long and drawn-out, lasting 6 months. The interviews themselves weren't difficult, but I don't understand why Google conducts interviews without any openings.
There were 5 rounds of interviews for the L6 EM role:
None of the interviews were difficult, but I received some mixed feedback in the System Design rounds. Additionally, there were no openings for L6 when my interviews concluded. Due to the mixed feedback in System Design, I had to wait 2.5 months for a team match.
The team match went very well, only for me to be rejected at the Hiring Committee stage after 6 months. It shouldn't take 6 months to reject a candidate and waste someone's time so much. Google also shouldn't conduct interviews without having an open position. This was a huge waste of my time over 6 months to appear for interviews and then get rejected at the Hiring Committee.
I can't disclose the interview questions as they are confidential.
