Software Engineering Interview Experience - Mountain View, California

Process

I applied online and then had two phone interviews over a Google Doc.

They followed the typical interview format: they started by talking about what they do at Google for a few minutes, asked me a few questions, and then presented me with the main question.

I was later scheduled for a third phone interview. I believe they can make hiring decisions after just two interviews, though. Since I performed very well in one interview and only adequately in the other, I wasn't surprised that they wanted to see me do another interview. The question in the third interview was harder than the ones I received in the first two.

Overall, it was a pretty painless process, and Google's scheduling is very streamlined.

Questions

Signed a NDA, but they were pretty basic programming interview questions. Nothing too insane or out of the ordinary.
