Recruiter phone screen:

This screened for your understanding of the job, basic fit, and included a 10-question quiz to assess knowledge.

Team phone screen:

This was a typical interview, heavily focused on technical skills with less emphasis on leadership or "Googleyness." It involved solving a couple of realistic programming and system design questions.

Team interview:

This was a series of one-on-one interviews, totaling about four hours. I was interviewing for a team that required relocation. To ease my travel, they conducted the interview in my hometown, at their local office. I had one in-person interview, a "lunch buddy" meeting, and the remaining interviews were conducted over Google Hangout. While I could have interviewed from home, I believe it was beneficial to do so at a Google office to experience the environment. Spoiler: it's awesome.
