Pros

Due to the size of Google, every point is contingent on the team/management chain.

  • Great WLB: Flexibility with doctor's appointments when needed, never working more than 40 hours unless trying to go for promo.
  • Great benefits and perks.
  • Great compensation: Base salary, RSUs, 401k 50% match, etc.
Cons

Tiny cog in a machine. Impact is marginal at best.

Entire projects/teams can be canceled or re-orged on short notice. Diminishes attachment to work.

Climbing the ladder can be ambiguous. Unclear how best to spend time; what projects to work on.
