Pros

Folks are generally smart and friendly. It's easy to achieve work-life balance if you are not too keen on getting promoted. The culture is open.

Cons

As the size grows, policies start to kick in. There are people (thankfully, only a few) who talk the talk but don't walk the walk and are fast-tracked in promotions.

Advice to Management

Fix the performance evaluation system. The existing system rewards people in high-profile projects, but not too much on "boiling" maintenance tasks.
