The interview process for converting from intern to full-time is very strange, with much more emphasis put on standardized test-like technical interviews than on the feedback of your team, with whom you worked for multiple months.
Keep doing what you're doing, but push for conversion hiring to be done more based on team feedback and less on technical interviews.
