Great place to work at as an FTE, but definitely not as a contractor

Pros

Great benefits, like free food (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) and access to multiple gyms.

Diversity is a huge thing at Google and is taken seriously.

Google has great cultures and values.

Great work-life balance, definitely the best compared to other big tech companies.

Google helps its employees a lot in learning and pushing your skills to the next level.

Contractors do sometimes have an opportunity to get converted to full-time employees, depending on the department and project they are working on.

Cons

Contractors do get treated differently, like second-class citizens. A lot of research projects, especially at Google X, have a high chance of suddenly getting shut down without prior notice. Everyone on the project (full-time and contractors) gets laid off without any help or chance to move to a different role/project inside Google.
