Software Engineer, Backend Interview Experience - India

June 1, 2019
Negative ExperienceGot Offer

Process

A very stretched and time-consuming process.

It started with a Codility test, featuring usual LeetCode-type questions.

Then, a phone interview occurred a week later.

The on-site interview was almost a month after that.

Subsequently, because the hiring manager was unavailable, a phone interview was scheduled two weeks later.

The hiring manager insisted on another on-site interview.

All rounds were cleared.

Then, there was dead silence from the recruiter, who did not respond to phone calls or emails.

Finally, two months later, an offer was received that was significantly lower compared to compensation at companies like FAANG.

Questions

Usual Data Structure/Algorithm questions from LeetCode.

Examples include longest common substring.

Some OS-related questions and high-level system architecture design questions (e.g., design bit.ly).
