Software Engineer Interview Experience - Bengaluru, India

Process

First phone screen from recruiter.

Telephonic round with an engineer.

Onsite round - supposed to be 3 rounds but they conducted 2.

In the F2F interview, there were 4 interviewers, and 3 of them were junior.

In the first round, one of the interviewers was constantly interrupting. He was a new Grab joiner and seemed to lack experience for an interviewer. The interviewers were not engaging. Another junior seemed a little better.

Due to the interruption, I often lost my concentration. This impacted the second round as well, as the second round interviewers received feedback from the first round interviewers.

Furthermore, I did not find the interviewers very knowledgeable, and the discussions were not engaging.

Overall, I did not have a good experience, although the company seems solid.

HR was responsive before the interview, but after the interview, they stopped responding, despite my multiple emails. This is typical HR behavior nowadays - they either lie to candidates or don't respond.

I would request the recruiting team to select interviewers based on the candidate's seniority level to make the interview more enjoyable (though it also depends on the personalities of the panel and candidate).
