Is there anything inherently wrong with software engineers remaining in the same role for more than five years?
The new policy requires G4 engineers to be promoted to G5 within five years, and we can all infer the consequences if they are not. However, promotion opportunities are limited, and the selection criteria are often unclear or inconsistently applied. Under these conditions, a lack of promotion should not be considered a valid justification for layoffs.
The first round was a coding round. The questions were extremely easy, definitely not fit for a senior developer. The next round was a technical discussion. At most, two or three questions were asked, and the interview concluded in about 30 minutes.
1. HR Screening via Zoom call for 30 minutes. 2. Online coding round with two LeetCode questions of medium difficulty. 3. System Design round. 4. Cultural fit with the Manager.
Round 1 - Coding, Data Structures and Algorithms Round 2 - System Design Round 3 - Culture Fit + past experiences + problem solving (I didn't make it to this round) Kudos to the recruiter and interviewers! Although the feedback on why I could not
