Process

A 2-hour coding assessment involved a simpler Mindsweeper-type game, followed by some very easy questions that I can't recall.

This was then followed by a 2-hour Zoom interview.

It began with questions about myself and why I wanted to work at Guidewire.

Then, there were a few simple JavaScript functions to implement:

  • palindrome
  • palindromeRecursive
  • a couple of others

Finally, there was one fairly difficult question in Java, as they use Java for their backend. This question involved recursion and maps.

Questions

They asked me several questions about Java and OOP.

For example:

  • What does final mean when placed in a method signature?
  • What is the difference between an interface and an abstract class?
  • What was my favourite part of ES7?

Was this helpful?
