The hiring manager was honest in describing the role and responsibilities to me. He was good at telling both the positive and negative aspects of being at Guidewire.

Pros: You get to work with some brilliant people who really know software and care a good deal about craftsmanship. Great culture and work ethic of the people there. In some ways, Guidewire is a picture-perfect software company.

Cons: It's only true if you're a software engineer. Woe betide you if you're in a different department. It was hard to get information and requirements (at least this was true when I worked there).
