Staff Software Engineer Interview Experience - United States

Process

The interview process was needlessly long, including three separate coding challenges with identical formats, a system design interview, a hiring manager interview, and a "values fit" interview.

For my final coding interview, the interviewer arrived late, appearing hungover (or still drunk). They were borderline rude and spent most of their time browsing their phone, to the point that on more than one occasion, they did not even realize or acknowledge when I asked questions or made comments. This was supposedly a "working session". At the end, when we got to the "Q&A" section, I received terse, one-word answers. So much for their values.

Despite completing all of the provided test cases for this interview, and seemingly being successful in all previous ones, this massively unprofessional interviewer alone was enough to tank the process. Eight hours in interviews with the company, and countless other hours preparing, were wasted.

Complete waste of time. Stay away.
