I applied online. The process took 4 weeks.
First of all I would say that I assume most of the positions and my interviews were a FAKE interview. The first interview with HR was a screening interview. It was very pleasant and focused on my motivation. What already made me think was that nobody spoke in a hypothetical way. Throughout the conversation, I was constantly given the impression that I had already secured the job.
The second interview was a stakeholder interview. There were supposed to be two interviewers, but in the end only one attended. Before the interview, it was decided at short notice that the third interview would be with the other stakeholder. He would actually have been my direct counterpart for the role.
What surprised me most was that the technical interview was not really about my competencies or experience. Instead, it consisted almost entirely of questions about methods and processes, and I was expected to explain them theoretically. That's all well and good, but every company uses slightly different terminology. Therefore, I'm not entirely sure what the purpose of these questions was. Just because someone knows a concept in theory does not mean they can successfully apply it in practice. In some cases, the interviewer didn't even know what certain terms meant and openly admitted that he had simply been told to ask those questions.
I was then informed that there would be three additional interviews and that HR would get in touch to arrange them. Two days later, however, I received an automated rejection email. Overall, it was a very disappointing process over a few weeks. As a candidate, it was never really clear to me what Helsing was actually looking for. My impression is that they don't fully know themselves yet. The candidate should learn and understand all the terms mentioned in the job description and be able to explain them theoretically.
As I said, questions were about Method and Process.
