Local for me.
Working on a customer's site away from the main HP office.
Pay grades are a joke. Everything is secret. They will not disclose the pay grade per job title.
Only a 10% increase in salary if you get a promotion, split into two lots. So after 6 months you get 5%, then after 12 months another 5%. Sadly, 10% of nothing is not a lot.
Yet, someone coming in from the outside can come straight in on much more money than an internal employee taking up another job. Well below average pay. No bonus.
Staff, they keep employing juniors or apprentices to replace senior members in a bid to save money while getting the senior members to train them, which they do not get paid to do, so refuse to train people.
The good staff they have get treated like rubbish, and the poor staff seem to get everything.
Weak management results in members of staff performing poorly yet not getting called out for it. This means other members of staff have to accept "that's how they are" and deal with their shoddy diagnostics and rubbish attitude.
If anyone gets brought up for this, they get signed off with stress!
Constantly being fobbed off with "I would give you a pay rise, but my hands are tied" and "dead man's shoes."
Money, it's just poor. Worked for a combined 5-plus years and had a 2% pay rise in total. No bonus.
They will not tell us the pay brackets for jobs, and a status change can only take place once someone leaves (not when you deserve it).
Constant lies, no money to give, no status changes, no training, no career prospects. You are promised the world when you start and get nothing.
In 5 years, I have had 1 training course on a system that is 10-plus years old. Other training is promised but never happens and is fobbed off with the "skill port." Anyone who works for HP understands the pain of skill port!
The way HP treats its customers is appalling. Why companies stay with them is beyond me.
So many people who work in this place are looking elsewhere, me included.
Save yourself the hassle and find somewhere else.
Sadly, I listen to the lies and false hope they give, otherwise I would have jumped ship long ago.
Change needed.
Tell us the pay grade structure. Bring pay to the national average like you say you do. Stop lying to your employees and customers. Train your staff. That means sending them to courses, not giving them Skill Port, which is a complete waste of time.
Stop employing unskilled staff and expecting senior members to train them in everything, while expecting us to keep hitting the SLA.
Change the parts ordering system! 24 hours is the earliest parts arrive. Not good enough.
This company needs massive changes.
The standard application, followed by a phone call interview and an in-person assessment centre with 3 interviews: * One group with 6 other interns * One technical coding problem to identify coding languages * One psychometric
There was a first stage with an outside interviewer. Then I took a technical interview with HPE employees. They were helpful and gave much feedback which will improve my future interview processes.
Telephone interview to discuss experience and describe the company to me. Followed by a walkthrough of a solution to showcase consulting skills, followed by an hour of grilling on technical and interpersonal skills.
