1. Excellent corporate processes and methodologies. Way above average in this regard, but what you would expect from the original high-tech company.

2. Depth of knowledge and experience across the organization. Again, a reflection of the company's long history in tech.

3. Reasonable working hours and expectations. The company realizes that success is a long-haul proposition and plans accordingly.

1. Personal rivalries over small issues sometimes got in the way of communication, but I suppose that happens everywhere.

2. There seemed to be an unusually large percentage of new employees, at least in the area where I was working.

Managers should be promoted based on education, skills, and ability to work well with others. This is not being applied rigorously enough, in my opinion.
